Death take me away
In your slumber despair
Just give me seven straight hours
Of flight with the nightingales
So I can for that moment rest in peace
Oh, Death rock me to eternal sleep
Sudden relapse among the living
This body ever so unforgiving
As these eyes weigh ever so heavily
Into the restless night
Where these legs curse
The day I was born sleeping
Cannot take it anymore
Why can I never die?
Just for seven straight hours
Only to live for the rest of the duration
Cleansing these darkened feelings
Embracing the light
This mind ever so hasting
Millions of random meaningless thoughts per second
Killing the sheep of mourning
Countless to a lost cause
To a cure that was never found
Sleep, Why have you forsaken me?
Death, Why have you forgotten me?
Just living on the hope
Of finally being dead
In the eyes of these insomniac cries
Death, May I someday rest in peace

Death is a metaphor here
ReplyDeleteTo sleep per chance to dream. I hope you got some rest!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I hope I do soon I believe I will tonight :-). Tried to the other night but could not sleep till earlier VERY earlier today or now yesterday I was awoken very early by what felt like an earthquake but it was the construction crew of the new bridge they are building because the bridge we have now is very old and so on. Drivable and walkable but very old and too narrow. So it was like ahhhh and I was inspired to write this. Yet I have been busy as well this week. So hopefully I can sleep in a tadbit!. Thank you for coming!
ReplyDeleteHave you slept yet?
